The Daric, made in the 4th century BCE, is the Persians first coinage made in their time. This coin demonstrates how knowledgeable the Persians are. The name Daric derived from the ruler Darius in which the coin was made during the time he was in control. On this coinage, they placed an image of their current ruler. Just as the Persians , we too have currency that has images of our past presidents that made an impact in our government. I feel that the Daric set an impressionable example in regards to their skills of making such a coin at a time when it was not common.
